OUR PROCESS
Step 1: Meeting / Visioning / Site Review
-
Step one is all about getting together to know you and understanding your vision for the space or site. What ideas do you already have? How do you envision using the space? Are there materials and finishes you want to use or match? Often, clients have inspirational imagery from Pinterest and Houzz to help convey their ideas and CDSM will also help pull some together so we can create a vision board to coalesce all the ideas together. CDSM will inspect the site/space to create an accurate floor plan and photo document the existing conditions. Lastly, we will need to establish a project timeline and budget for the project.

Step 2: Design Concepts and Scope
-
In Step two, CDSM will synthesize our vision collaboration and translate it into design concepts. We utilize both 2D plans and 3D modeling to convey concepts so our clients can understand what is being proposed so they can provide valuable feedback. Through the refinement of the design plans, a scope of work will be able to be constructed which will outline not only what work will need to be completed but will identify what specific contractors will be needed for the project.

Step 3: Design Finalization & Contractor Bidding / Selection
-
Step three will finalize the design and prepare for municipal submittal. CDSM and clients will visit supplier showrooms to finalize product & material selections such as flooring, cabinetry, tile, fixtures, etc. CDSM will also finalize the scope of work and assemble contractor team specifically tailored to project. Where viable, CDSM will competitively bid qualified vetted contractors to ensure the most cost-effective project. CDSM will review project team decisions with the clients prior to finalization.

Step 4: Pre-Construction Meeting / Permitting & Schedule
-
Step four is a preparation meeting with our project manager, after a project team is assembled, drawings have been completed, and municipal approvals has been granted. During this meeting the construction process will be discussed along with project details such as access to the home, pets, debris removal, daily schedule, communication, etc. CDSM wants you to feel comfortable in your home while the process of upgrading your home is occurring. Let us know what you need to best be able to continue with your life with as few disruptions as possible.
Step 5: Construction & Completion
-
Step five is things come together. Clients will be working together with the project manager throughout the project. CDSM is the day-to-day liaison for the client to field questions, identify problems, manage the schedule & invoicing, and verify work quality and progress. We believe communication is the key to success in a project. We demand it from our contractors and make sure our clients are fully informed and the final decision makers. without being overwhelmed with the onslaught of daily details. The project will conclude with a final walk-through to ensure no detail has been overlooked. Any necessary items will be addressed, and a final post construction clean-up will be performed.
